Final Webs-ee you later

And now the website has also been finished! I may miss this when it's all over.

My website is basically how I think of Florence and the machine, on her actual website she only has one picture of herself on the homepage. But I didn't want to put one of her on at all as there is a 'Gallery' link and I wanted it mainly to be about the birds and contining the mystery right up until the very end. From the messages in the song, to the dark CD covers.

Differen't coloured birds represent a sort of menu, for different links. There are three eyes on the website, one in the tree and one on 'Log in' and 'Sign up' buttons. I have a tree as the main focus, as that was the main focus in the performance part of my music video aswell.

The tree is my main focus because I think is portrays Florence's personality that she shows in her songs. Her voice is huge and strong, like the trunk, but it can also be small and elegant like spindly branches or leaves. I also think the complicated patterns a branch makes reflects the complicated messages, thoughts and feelings she gives in her lyrics of every song shes ever done. Then I added all the colours because she is fun, all her songs have a part where you can really go crazy and dance around in them, even Bird Song.

Every text box in a speech bubble because I liked the thought that the bird was singing 'Florence + the machine' and it makes it a little more interesting.

I'm really pleased with it!

Final CD Digipack-your bags

Thank goodness the CD digipack is over.

Using three pictures I took on the day of my performance shoot. Two of Hollie as Florence on the front cover and on the inside and then one of the infamous tree she danced infront of decorated and in all its glory. The front cover clearly states the artist and the back cover gives the name of the song. The inside cover, where the CD is however, I felt needed to be a little diffrence, with a nod of the hat to the Killers album where that part of their cover says 'This is dedicated to our fans' I had a black background, white font and the words 'Tweet, tweet, tweet.' I thought it was a nice reference to a very effective part of the song, and one of my favourite lyrics. As it is completley up to the listener to decide what Florence means by it. Is it metaphorical? etc.

Hope the examiners enjoy it anyway.

The End is Nigh

After completing my music video thanks to Imovie I can now breathe a sigh of relief.

Last minute performance shooting gave me a ton of footage to work with. The pictures in the previous post have also been used to create my CD Digipack cover, which I am pleased with. My website has also just been finished. These posts will follow this one.

Here is a picture of me working on imovie. As you can see all my shots are now on there, the whole thing is about 2:55 long, you wouldn't imagine something that short could take up so many shots.

Performance Filming

In the woods near to where I live, Hollie Dorman played Florence,

We decorated a couple of tree's with permission from local parish council, and filmed the performance part of my music video.

The day quickly turned into night however, and will be an interesting edit.

Designing CD Digipack and Website

This is a rough, first draft, design for my folder of my CD digi pack and Website.

First thoughts and details have been included in the sketches, hopefully to be improved on when actually designing the real thing, these are mainly brainstorms and a development of ideas.

These are the narrative performers and Hollie plays Florence.

For reasons such as; she is a professional dancer and has red hair similar to the artist.

All actors chosen have had previous experience in drama and acting roles.

These shots include what make-up and costume will be used for the individual characters. This also includes the permission sheet that the actors filled to give permission to be filmed etc.
